Hot & cold weather advice
- – We always recommend the use of a wetsuits, as they keep participants warmer when the weather is colder and help them stop getting sunburnt of sunny days.
- – With regards to colder days, we would also advise wearing neoprene socks, gloves, hat, and hoodie.
- – On warmer days, participants are encouraged to:
- – Sunscreen works best when used with shade or clothes, and it must be re-applied every 2 hours and after swimming, sweating, or towelling off.
- – Wear a hat, sunglasses, and protective clothing to shield skin.
- – Use broad spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF30 to protect exposed skin.
- – Stay hydrated.
- – Seek shade, especially during midday hours.
Our Lakes
- – Our lakes are manmade and filled with fresh water
- – We test the water regularly to monitor its quality
- – We still advise not to participate if you have an open wound, and advise you seek independent medical advice if you have any small cuts or abrasions
- – As with any waterway or lake, there is a small chance in the UK that Leptospirosis, also called Weil’s disease could be present. We have pest control contracts in place to reduce this risk, however, if someone becomes ill after an activity in water, they should seek medical advice urgently.
